a Gradle plugin for orchestrating docker builds and pushes. Add basic tasks for building and pushing docker images based on a simple configuration block that specifies the container name, the Dockerfile, task dependencies, and any additional file resources required for the Docker build. Adds a task for populating placeholders in a docker-compose template file with image versions resolved from dependencies. Adds tasks for starting, stopping, statusing and cleaning up a named container based on a specified image. The docker plugin adds a docker Gradle component and a docker Gradle configuration that can be used to specify and publish dependencies on other Docker containers. Version conflicts between transitive dependencies of the same artifact are handled with the standard Gradle semantics: each artifact is resolved to the highest declared version.

Makefile and Shell have cross-platform issues, especially on Windows. Thanks to Gradle and JVM, Gogradle provide an excellent cross-platform support and can leverage the whole Java ecosystem. There're many mature plugins in Gradle ecosystem, and it's easy for yourself to implement a plugin to reuse your build code. There's plenty of package management tools in Go community which are not compatible with each other. This project is a result of my tries to port Liferay portal Community Edition to Virgo. I have done this work in the research purpose to analyze an ability of development a serious mass enterprise system on very perspective and great Virgo platform couple with the most powerful open source portal Liferay. My theoretical research has pointed these two product like the most perspective flexible and multi functional solutions matching my aims very well. But practically Virgo has turned out inapplicable for my tasks for a lot of different reasons (low performance, inconvenient migration process, poor environment, not enough functionality of tools, low robust, poor documentation and etc.) If someone want to know in details I can formalize everything on the forum by a request.
