Building 3D projects are just like playing games, with infinitely large virtual worlds, realistic objects/characters, freely moving cameras, and engaging user interactions. Working on 3D projects develops both the left brain (science, mathematics and logical reasoning) and the right brain (creative design and spatial reasoning). Creativity is by far the most important skill for our kids, because every task that does not require creativity will be automated by AIs and robots in the future. Creative coding will become an essential skill for everyone in the digital world. Just like picking up a pen to draw a story, everyone should feel comfortable building a demo project for their novel ideas. We can divide up all coding activities into 2 categories: implementation coding vs creative coding. In implementation coding, a student implements well-established methods to carry out a task, such as implementing the bubble-sort algorithm (invented more than 50 years ago) to sort a list of numbers.
