Dont you think that when you open your activities you should be able to see a preview of the app you are using not just the apps icon, it's confusing and outdated, it would me more modern to add a preview of the app with a small icon that indicates the app

Hi Roberto, Here are a few random suggestions: 1) The command looks okay but there is a space between the -a which doesn't look like a space in the reply above. Make sure that space is there before the hyphen. This OS is really still only a BETA release. There a many issues with it still other than perhaps on the developers own computer. However, there is a way to stop these error messages appearing. It requires turning off a reporting app called apport. Do a search using the name Ubuntu and your error message and you will find plenty of advice on this. Try an update before you do anything else. In the repository list just uncheck the DVD disk or otherwise you will get errors about the repository. But...

Hello... I gave UbuntuDDE a go. To see how it will work on my laptop. I have an HP Elitebook 840 G6. It has a docking station with dual monitors attached. There is a bug with DDE that doesn't properly detect when the laptop screen is closed. If you go to display settings, you will see the laptop monitor (despite being closed) as active. And to make matters worse, the laptop monitor usually becomes the primary monitor. So, the Deepin dock is not visible on the external monitors. I currently run Manjaro...

There seems to be a big bug where if one is running more than one monitor and you don't right-click on the primary desktop it DOES not give you a menu to say launch a terminal. Right-click (default) works fine on a primary desktop or single monitor but when you add ...say 2 more monitors..and now have 3 desktops in extend mode you can ONLY right-click and get a menu from the primary. Well I have the same Problem on Matebook X Pro Nvidia MX150 optimus....on Ubuntu 20.04 its normally working, last time I tried with beta Version, also tried all the propertery drivers to no avail. I will now try the stable release and report back.

It's a shame I have to install Ubuntu to get my EFI partition for dual booting to work and then install UbuntuDDE over top of it. I've tried doing this through the installer several ways but it does not work. None of the online 'solutions' I've tried allow me to do this either.

You can download and paste new backgrounds into your "pictures' folder. In there is a folder called Wallpapers. You will see that the default set of wall papers are "linked" (that;s the blue circular arrow symbol) to another folder. I haven't checked for sure because I am not in UbuntuDDE at the moment, but there is often a folder in ~/usr/share/ called 'background' have a look in there too. In UbuntuDDE, as of now this no icon for notification in the statusbar. It becomes difficult to know if notifications were there. I know that notifications are shown in the control panel but you wont know unless you open it. There should be an icon for it show the count or status of notifications

Hi, First off, I'm loving the Remix, it's gorgeous! But..... I have a strange bug I'm encountering. My monitor will not turn back on after resuming from suspend. I think it has to do with the NVIDIA card I'm using since I encountered this before when using Ubuntu 18.04 (I think), and it started working properly when 19.10 when using the proprietary drivers. Now using DDE if I try to use the xorg driver, it allows it to suspend and the display works fine, but won't resume from suspend, I just get...

Final release has the option to show categories. I don't know how to change it to default but 1 click is not too bad to get to it. What I'd like to see is a way to change the clock on the menu to 12 hour. CHanging in the control panel only chages the task bar time to 12 hour setting.

I'm running this on a Lenovo T430s with 16GB memory and i7 3520 2C/4T. This is running beautiful. I've gotten Windows apps running in Wine and other software running great. I use this mostly as a Media Laptop, lots of streaming. Only some minor issues with some windows not keeping last know config, but it's nothing that is going to stop me using it. This has replaced Linux Mint (Cinnamon) as my daily driver Linux distro.

If you have a second momitor plugged in, one screen will be blank. I had this happen to me when using a laptop with external monitor. I had to select display settings and make sure to only display on monitor as I have the laptop closed while running at home.

I've had no problem. Have you used thunderbird with another Linux version in the past? If so, there is a little trick that allows you to load all your old accounts and emails into the new version. Simply open your Home folder and make sure hidden files are showing. You can do this by opening "settings" in File Manager, and check the box 'Hidden files.' Then look there for the folder called '.thunderbird' (note the dot before the word Thunderbird - that means it's a hidden file) - rename this as '.thunderbird-old'....

Is UbuntuDDE supposed to have Night Shift in the Brightness settings panel? My system is missing this feature and I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that or if something didn't get installed properly. Do I need to install additional software to enable this feature?

I'm running the proprietary Nvidia graphics driver, as shown in the screenshot, and there is a thick blur shadow attached to the terminal window on the right and bottom edges. I have another DDE installed on Manjaro on the same machine and it doesn't suffer from this issue. Is anybody else seeing this on their system?

When installing from USB stick (on DELL XPS 13) in UEFI boot mode everything is slow. Encrypted installation is not booting after installation. Ie opening terminal takes 5-10 seconds, running top command takes 5+ seconds. Installation takes about hour. All disk access to USB stick is worse than floppies were in 90's. After resume from suspend, sometimes graphics get extra borders on non-active applications. hw: Dell XPS 13 At least firefox, thunderbird etc affected, terminal is not.
