Game Version: English, 5-CD (contains v1.02 patch files)
Platform: Intel Mac (OS X 10.6.8)

Bug details:

The game crashes if I try to turn back after reaching the frog trap at the end of the tunnel (on Bookmaking Island)… I can go forward, but not back.

There are 2 other instances over the next 3 consecutive scenes (including entering the air duct) where the same crash can occur:
1. Attempting to turn back while viewing a close up of the fan (spinning or not).
2. Attempting to move forward after exiting the duct at the tunnel end (matches turning back from the frog trap).

OS X error reports:

Console message:
In the beginning of the game, while buying potions and herbs from Nathaniel, if I buy all potions and then try to look at the big empty jar (that stored the potions) the game exits Scumm without warning. The same happens with both vases where the herbs are stored. Clicking the empty vases exits Scumm.

I'm using ScummVM -v1.8.1 in Windows 7, CD version with English voices.
I tried v1.7.0 first and was having the same problem. After updating to the most recent version v.1.8.1 the problem remains.

Running the game from the command line gives me no info.

I should add that I completed the game in a previous version of ScummVM a couple of years ago, but didn't try to do this back then.

I tried loading the game under different graphics modes, and the walking problem only seems to occur when set to 3x or HQ3x, full screen. What seems to be happening is that in these modes ScummVM lets you move the pointer farther to the right than one can in a window or in other graphics modes to the point where it's completely off the screen., and I'm speculating that it's interpreting a click in that region as more to the left than it is.

If I move the pointer to where it's only slightly off the right side of the screen walking works normally.
