Failure to log into any server

Upon selecting any of the maps from the map selection screen, the following message is returned:

"Failed to configure map "Tasmania"
Perhaps there is a problem reaching the remote site."

No proxy required

Obtaining maps from Tasmanian Govt LIST server fails

Using latest version on XP, tried on two machines.

Upon selecting the Tasmanian maps from the map selection screen, the following message is returned:

"Failed to configure map "Tasmania"
Perhaps there is a problem reaching the remote site."

Network connection is fine, and browsing the web interface works on the same machine. (http://www.thelist.tas.gov.au/)

Sometimes "Stop" button does not work

If MapRequest is waiting for a response from a remote
site, pressing the "Stop" button does nothing.

WMS maps with parameters in the URL don't work

WMS maps where the request URL is something like:

http://mymap.com/getmap.pl?map=main

fail. MapRequest needs better URL handling.

WMS layers with no bounding box fail

If a map has a layer with no bounding box
(LatLongBoundingBox) MapRequest fails to load the
map. This can happen if there is a layer that has only
non-map information.

Send logging messages to a file rather than to the console

The various log messages are probably not very useful
to most people. It would be less confusing if they went
to a file rather than to stdout/stderr.

Warning messages on console about cookies

When running MapRequest, there are warning
messages displayed in the command window like:

This should be fixed.

No error is displayed when no layers are selected

If no layers are selected there is no error displayed
when MapRequest tries to build up the map. It should
display an error telling the user to select a layer.

This is especially true for WMS maps where there is no
concept of "default" layers.

Layer list incorrect for WMS maps

The layer list for WMS based maps repeats some layer
names. Also, it would be better if the layer names
showed the layer hierarchy.

Status for WMS maps can be < 100% after errors

The percentage status bar reports incorrectly if there
was an error loading one or more segments of a WMS
map.
