Hi Bob my limited understanding is that work on Komposer stopped a long time ago (2009?) and is sort of replaced by Mozilla Seamonkey which is maintained and works in both windows and linux (Debian). So you could try seamonkey. I downloaded Komposer into windows today and found it worked but the Seamonkey interface is much better and i prefer the raw HTML produced by seamonkey which is marginally better. H Bob Are you using Kompozer to actually upload your web pages and thus having a problem in that way or are you looking for a way to insert something in a web page directly from the program? I am pretty sure that no further work is being done to this program but it shouldn't really make any difference. If there is a need to insert any code into a web page, it can be added manually. It has been a long time since I have used Kompozer, but if your problem is the former, then may I suggest using Filezilla...

I am glad to see there is interest in " Discussion " This pop-up has recently crippled use of Kompozer on my CoSy.com . I have checked that it happens on other websites like mail-chimp . I recently found the html folders for a Website I built almost 2 decades ago with Dreamweaver and posted it to the backend of my blog. When I added SSL to my website, I started getting error code 8182 whenever Kompozer tried to load a webpage with images in it. I can ignore the error, and all the editing and publishing functions work, but I cannot view any images, including those used to format the page.It defeats the advantages of WISIWIG. The web page works fine for users, it is just when loaded by Kompozer.

I've been using Kompozer in windows for many years without problem. Finally loaded it in Mint19.2 with SNAP. Works fine with local files but when I go to access an external disk, it doesn't show up on front page of open file. Tried opening file directly but use "other application" does not show Kompozer. Can't get into "media" - permission denied. Can't changes permissions because ROOT only even though I am root. Could move files into a local directory but hope there is an easier way. thanks

In some situations, with some specific blocks you cannot do that, because of it's interconnections with backend components. But if we talk about regular development process and basic knowledge of blocks, attributes and tags, articles like b vs strong comparison can be helpful in understanding of what elements you should edit first and how to do that in the most effective ways.

Every time I try to start KompoZer, the process freezes before any window tries to open and I can't shut it down from task manager. Only a reboot will get rid of it in memory. Any thoughts on getting it to run on Win10? It still runs fine on my Win7 machine.

Continued to tinker with the publishing option and, not sure how, trying to "publish" completely corrupted the file links from every link in the page. https://github.com/therealglazou/bluegriffon seems to be an on-GitHub attempt to address small issues that has recent updates. I think with the entire family of ex Composer forks, you're going to have to pay for the pieces you want to see made. Not quite sure how, but it is likely to be involved.

I see that there is at least a little action on this board, so maybe this is a good place to ask: Is there an active community to ask about using BlueGriffon? I know that KompoZer has not been supported for many years, and that BlueGriffon is suposed to be its successor. I'd like to use BlueGriffon, but it crashes repeatedly under macOS Mojave. At least KompoZer is useable.

Why is the Source view font so small? It makes working in that view almost impossible and will be the reason why i abandon Kompozer. As this thread started over 3 years ago, i'm not expecting any change in the near-term future. Very disappointing.

check the exact link. if it starts with "file:", then komposer has set it up to link with your computer, not your web site. try checking the relative link box to make the link relative to whatever web site is trying to link it.

I just got a "tip of the day" that said to "open a window" on a Mac you just hit shift+ command + n. Normally when you do that in Mac OS you will create a folder on the desktop. I think the tip should mention that it you. do this sequence in Komposer it will open a new Komposer window.

Hello Ivan, Kompozer has not been maintained for many years as far as I know. I myself have not used it for several years. Maybe others are still using it and can help you. I opened an image in a template by browsing in Kompozer, saved it and wanted to preview in Firefox. The template appeares in FF, but instead of the image I have only the title of the Image. I have the image in the map Images. What can I do?

I have the same issue. No "tree" is displayed in Site Manager. KompoZer 0.8b3 (20100301) Windows 10 HP15 Work-around: Using FileZilla (for example) copy the url (ftp address) and paste into KompoZer (File>Open Web Location) dialogue box.

I cannot see any settings in BlueGriffon that would cause what is happening to you. Although it is not likely, there may be something going on with GoDaddy. After saving your file, you need to examine it in either Notepad++ or Notepad, or some other text only editor. If everything looks OK, then save the file from your text editor and upload to your web site, then see if the problem persists. I have created a website using KompoZer and when I go to test it in KompoZer all the pages open up with know problems but the published website on GoDaddy does not allow me to open the linked pages. For some reason the titles to the linked pages begin with an upper case letter despite the pages titles not beginning with an upper case letter in the CP file manager of GoDaddy, see image. The files that were uploaded to the file manager do not have an upper case letter at the beginning of the page titles....

Blue Griffon is easy to migrate to. There are some differences but the learning curve is pretty shallow.
