Yes i could increase the number but stil eventually i have to do it. The stick was built using YUMI-exFAT-1.0.3.7 which uses Ventoy 1.1.11. I had Clonezilla live 3.3.1-35 in my ISOs folder and got the "Box" error at the same ctrl-c/partition enumeration point as @Bodenseematze describes. I copied the Clonezilla 3.3.2-22 iso to the stick and tried again and confirm that the issue is fixed. restore, the unallocated space was still there. Incidentally I had to use supergrub to boot into linux. The windows boot worked fine.
