I can't get it to work. I can't get it to convert my .docx file directly to a .chm. If I save my docx file to .html then chmprocessor will create a .chm file but the graphics are missing. When I ask chmprocessor to create a project file then I get a message that says"

The project C:\Users\Kent\Documents\Elections\Development\L&AChecklist Instructions-project\help.hhp cannot be opened. Do you have installed the Microsoft Help Workshop ?

The answer is yes. I do have it installed.

What are the necessary steps to convert a docx file with graphics to a chm file with graphice?

Don't auto-increment HTML file names (e.g. "1 Intro.htm", "2 install.htm") in Help project unless there's an actual file name collision.

Tommy, can you hear me?

E. I get that this is an easy way to avoid file name collisions. But this also makes it difficult to link to specific HTML files so that an application of mine can jump to a specific "chapter" (or whatever it is — represented by one HTML file in the Help project) of the ultimate CHM file.

Is this file name numbering done by chmProcessor, or is it something in a Microsoft function which it out of our control?

E. Lines containing superscripted symbols were lower than the lines would usually be. Fixed by removing and tags from HTML help project's embeddedstyles.css file. Could surely have solved it by removing superscript from the input doc file too.

E. I wish to control the line spacing in the CHM because I have lines overlapping each other in some of my paragraph styles. This overlap is not present in the original doc files -- only in the CHM files.

Does anyone know how I can control this?

E.
I'm a Software Engineer for a company that writes their help documentation in Word with all kinds of graphics and such. I found and downloaded the 'ChmProcessor' tool and ran it. It seems totally awesome, but I'm unsure about something. Prior to this project, we used a very old tool called 'Doc-To-Help' that ran on an XP machine. As part of its '.chm' file generation, it put numerous references (internal links I think) near the top of the '.chm' file with a '.htm' extension. In other words, if there was a section in the file called 'Inventory Inquiry', it would have a link near the top of the '.chm' file that said 'InventoryInquiry.htm'. It would strip out the space between the two words. On most screens in our application, there's a 'Help' button that just shows the help for that page. The 'ChmProcessor' tool didn't put all those links near the top of the '.chm' file. Is there any way to do that so it can go right to the correct help page?

Thank you,
