It's now 2025, and I have the same time trying to send a scanner feed to Broadcastify. It just says "Connecting..." when using the supplied broadcastify info for setup. After checking and rechecking what broadcastify says to do in settings, I just can't seem to find a reason why it's not working. I'm running the Mint flavor of Linux.

Hi David, BUTT shows dBFS. So you should make sure that the vertical black peak-hold bar does not reach 0. Otherwise you risk distortion. The audio signal does not reach BUTT directly. It also has to pass through audio settings of your operating system or audio driver. Please make sure that you did not set any gain or attenuation there. Also have a look at the audio settings of BUTTs internal mixer. Best, Daniel

How accurate is the metering in Butt - running a Rodeprocaster II pro into butt - but the meters do not always match at all - the procaster meter say the mics are real low but butt put them in the red . Some of the audo track are in the red on rode but no not in butt What should we be mixing to in Butt -6 or is 0 the 0 as per a normal VU meter ?

I run a Radio Station where my DJs connect remotely to RADIO DJ via BUTT using Shoutcast. Most of my DJs ( and i mean 99% of them) can connect fine and have no problems. There is that 1% that are just really having difficulties staying connected ( note i said staying connected). They can connect with BUTT no problem but then they are loosing connecting which in turn disconnects them from Radio DJ and then I have to connect them remotely again. I would like to ask if their is something they have to...

Hello Paul, please provide more information. There is no known issue with M* processors. It works fine on my M1 Macbook Air (Sonoma) and M1 Max (Ventura) and no one else has reported issues so far. So it must be individual problems. What does "not broadcasting" mean exactly? Try to explain in more detail what you do and what is happening. It would be best if you could provide a screen recording that demonstates the issue. Best, Daniel

Hi Daniel, Thanks for replying so quickly. The xxx element in the XML file sets the property on the Icecast mount point. Then it by default gets shown on the public status page.

Good Day, I have downloaded the libfdk-aac-2 .dll in order to enable AAC in butt. I have placed the dll in the butt installation directory as per instructions however, when i load butt and try and select AAC+ it say's it could not find the AAC library. Please asisst Thank You Sotmo

Hi Daniel, Thanks for the confirmation. I had tried it on Icecast 2.4.0 KH15 in the past but most recently it's only been on 2.4.4 Xiph. Not a big deal - streaming over HTTP has never been a major issue so long as - if you're using 2.4.4 Xiph - you have a second non-SSL socket configured.
